A boutique practice with national reach.
Mr. Williford has litigated alongside and against the top lawyers and law firms in Delaware and nationally — in matters of substantial economic stakes and national legal interest, and in disputes important to small and family businesses.

Mr. Williford has participated in the litigation of issues involving substantial economic stakes, running into the billions of dollars, and matters of national legal interest. He has also litigated disputes involving small and family businesses; while these disputes may not have the same economic stakes, they are equally — if not more — important to those involved, and the firm provides attentive, high-quality representation in those matters as well.
The firm's practice includes the representation of parties before the Delaware Court of Chancery with respect to matters of Delaware business law, as well as the Delaware Superior and Supreme Courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and other jurisdictions. The firm represents plaintiffs as well as defendants, and contingent or other alternative compensation arrangements can be discussed.
Before founding the firm, Mr. Williford practiced corporate litigation with Richards, Layton & Finger, P.A. and then Bouchard Margules & Friedlander, P.A. — both firms recognized as leaders in the field of Delaware Court of Chancery litigation. He attended Cornell Law School, where he served as an Articles Editor on the Cornell Law Review, and clerked for Chief Justice E. Norman Veasey of the Delaware Supreme Court.
Guiding principles
A deliberate alternative to the institutional model.
Independent judgment
As a boutique, the firm is free of the institutional conflicts that constrain larger practices, allowing it to take on matters and adverse parties that other Delaware firms may decline.
Senior attention
Engagements are handled directly by Mr. Williford. Clients receive the considered judgment of an experienced Chancery litigator on every filing and strategic decision — not layered associate work.
Economic alignment
Hourly, contingent, hybrid, and other alternative fee arrangements are available and discussed openly at the outset of an engagement, so the structure fits the dispute and the client.
Considered representation
The firm represents plaintiffs and defendants, in matters running to the billions and in disputes of close-held and family businesses — each given attentive, high-quality representation.
